Speakers:
Dionisis Andronas (SMARTHANDLE)
Dionisis Andronas holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Patras. He is a Senior Research Engineer and Project Manager at the Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems and Automation (LMS). With over a decade of experience in EU-funded projects, he has worked on robotic automation, human-robot collaboration, and reconfigurable manufacturing systems, contributing to the design and deployment of advanced robotic cells in industrial environments.
Filippo Ciarapica (AGILEHAND)
Filippo Ciarapica is a Full Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Plants at Università Politecnica delle Marche. He holds a PhD in Energy Management and has over 20 years of academic and research experience in supply chain design, project management, industrial logistics, and plant engineering. His work bridges innovation and industrial practice, contributing to the development of advanced, efficient, and human-centred production systems.
Apostolis Papavasileiou (MASTERLY)
Apostolis Papavasileiou is an Electrical & Computer Engineer graduated from the University of Patras. He has been employed as a senior researcher in Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems and Automation since 2014. His main fields of interest are: development of AI-based robotic applications for the industrial sector, applications for the enhancement of human-robot interaction and collaboration, quality control technologies, industrial machine vision applications.
Marco De Vito (HARTU)
Marco De Vito is an Innovation Manager at Tecnoalimenti S.C.p.A., where he has led research and innovation projects in the agrifood sector since 1996. With nearly 30 years of experience, he specialises in connecting industry and research, promoting multidisciplinary projects across product, process, and supply-chain innovation to address emerging industrial needs.

The current manual sorting and packaging activities are repetitive, ergonomically challenging, and sensitive to hygiene. HARTU introduces in its food pilot case an AI-enabled robotic system capable of recognising vegetable types, assessing quality, and executing gentle pick & place without damage.
